Y Beuno is renowned locally for its good food, selection of local ales and warm hospitality. Our French chef Christian aims to serve the best of local seasonal produce. He meticulously sources the very best available locally – some produce from locations that can actually be seen from Y Beuno: crab, lobster and fish caught daily in Caernarfon Bay, oysters and mussels from the nearby Menai Straits, Welsh Black beef, local organic lamb from the overlooking Rivals mountain side, local Welsh cheese and honey from Anglesey. In his spare time Christian supervises the development of our kitchen garden which supplies us with some home-grown fruit, vegetables and herbs.
Our smallholding a mile or so up the mountainside behind the hotel supplies us with free range eggs. In the summer we make our own sausages, burgers and serve home cured local bacon at breakfast. Even the children's chicken nuggets and fish fingers are home-made!
We aim to offer our guests a choice of tasty, homemade, freshly cooked food with an emphasis on the local, traditional and of course quality - good food - simple and tasty.
Dining is fairly informal with the emphasis on creating a relaxed and friendly atmosphere.
In the summer it is occasionally possible to dine al fresco!!! The outside eating areas having fantastic views of Caernarfon Bay and the romantic Island of Llanddwyn, home of the Welsh patron saint of lovers!
The sunset from the garden is a sight worth seeing. Children are very welcome and can be offered an alternative Children's Menu or be served half portions of any dish offered on the main menu.
If non-resident it is advisable to book in advance.
